Keeway Motor

Keeway Motor Keeway is a European branch of Chinese motorcycle giant Qianjiang Group, and produces a variety of motorbikes, scooters, ATVs and electric vehicles under its own brand.

Keeway was founded in 1999 in Szentendre, Hungary. After partnering with outside design agencies from across Europe in their production of their early bikes, the company built its own research and design facility in Italy. By 2007, Keeway bikes were being sold in 37 countries in Europe. Subsidiary companies have since been set up across the continent, as well as North and South America. A regional headquarters in Shanghai, China manages seven additional Keeway branches across Southeast Asia, and another eight branches are spread across Africa.

Scooters make up the majority of the Keeway product line. Even its lower-powered scooters such as the Flash 50 have been praised as stable, economic bikes for day commuters with a sense of style that isn’t restrained by its affordability. By and large the bikes are considered some of the most reliable in their price range, although it is recommended by riders that maintaining a frame entirely of factory parts is optimum for keeping the scooters in working order.

Keeway also produces bikes under other brand names than their own in order to expand their customer base, all while maintaining a high standard of design and reliability. The Venus 50 is one such model – an unusual metallic pink scooter which combines fuel efficiency and high speeds with an obvious push towards female clientele.

The company’s line of motorcycles feature a handful of enduro bikes as well as lightweight and large cycles. The largest of the line, the Keeway Cruiser 250cc, is a low-cost alternative to more high-end brands with low fuel consumption and speeds of at least 60 mph. In contrast with the Asian-influenced design of many of its scooters, Keeway cycles almost universally adopt various retro American styles, from light dirtbikes to choppers.

ATVs and electric vehicles round out the current Keeway model base. Its older ATV model, the 2009 Dragon 250, has been replaced by the ATV 50/100 and the 300. The former is designed as a pleasure vehicle, while the latter can find further use as a workhouse when a full-size truck may not have the maneuverability or adaptability required for the terrain.

The electric E-Bicycle, E-Matrix scooter and E-Flash motorcycle are the newest additions to the Keeway brand, providing a green solution for bike enthusiasts who want to get out on the road.
