Lifan Motors

Lifan is a Chongqing, China-based motorcycle and mini bike manufacturer. The company works with producing engines and frames for various motorcycles and small vehicles. The company was formed in 1992 by Yin Mingshan and has evolved to where the company is worth nearly a billion American dollars. Today the company makes more than four and a half million engines each year, thus making Lifan the top engine producer for all motorcycles in China.

Lifan works to manufacture its motorcycles and other vehicles in many parts of the world. The company has manufacturing plants in Vietnam and Thailand. A series of distribution facilities are also available in varying parts of the world. The American branch of Lifan can be found in Dallas and is open on weekdays.

Four motorcycle models are available from Lifan. These are the Titan, Phoenix, Sphinx and Wraith models. All models feature electric starting systems and engines of at least 200cc in strength, thus making them some of the most powerful motorcycles in the world. The vehicles have also become popular in places like the United States thanks to how they are relatively inexpensive. The motorcycles are worth between two and four thousand dollars each in the United States depending on the model one gets and where one buys it.

A variety of other small vehicles are also made by the company. Lifan makes dirt bikes and mini bikes that can be use for off-road riding and race competitions. Scooters for urban use, including the Gemini I and II models, are also available. The company also makes ATVs with hydraulic spring suspensions.

Accessories are also available for Lifan small vehicles. Most of the accessories are made by dealers who work to sell these Lifan motorcycles and other vehicles. Lifan prefers to focus on building engines and frames for its vehicles but it will accept the use of accessories on its vehicles. This is provided that the accessories do not impair the performances that the products can work with.

The company has worked over the years to manufacturer many larger applications. These include such things as cars and trucks. However, these larger applications with more powerful engines can only be found in China. There are no plans as of now to release any of these vehicles outside of the country. The only vehicles from Lifan that are readily available outside of China are the motorcycles and other small vehicles that the company makes.
