Malaguti Scooters
Malaguti Scooters is a renowned name that has been in existence in the two-wheeler business for more than seventy-five years. The company that came into being started as a basic bicycle repair and manufacturing store, has come a long way today. The company now has two huge manufacturing facilities located on the outskirts of Bologna. The facility at San Lazzaro di Savena is the place where the company headquarters are located. All strategic decisions regarding the present and the future of the company are taken here by the top management at this very location. From raw material supplies, to marketing techniques, each and every strategy is decided here.
The Castel San Pietro Terne facility is where the production of the company takes place. With four massive production lines housed in a 60,000 square meter facility, the production turnover is bound to be good. Currently, Malagutim has a workforce of five hundred personnel (including both the production facilities). The company happens to be one of the traditional family-owned businesses run totally by the Malaguti family. The company is known to be one of the pioneer of adopting new changes; be it technological, environmental or market trends and requirements. The company believes in working with a sense of Italian Creativity, which in fact is the USP’s of all Italian two-wheeler manufacturers. As is with all Italian two wheelers, they have their own unique design concepts in place in addition to the high quality manufacturing and component usage that attracts the customers.
The company currently manufactures nine 50cc scooters, four 50cc Motorbikes and seven scooters on the over 50cc range. The company also manufactures a quad for kids under fourteen years and trendy bikes for the same segment. Malaguti also deal in accessories for two-wheelers such as helmets, covers and biker bags. The SpiderMax GT400 Concept scooter manufactured by the company created waves all over Italy for being the most technologically advanced scooter with Euro 3 compliance in the year 2004.
The company made its international Grand Prix debut in the year 2006 in the GP 125 with an international team that had people from Japan, France and Finland. Along with the eighteen men their team included two women as the core part of the team. The team was known as AJO MOTORSPORT.
The team took part in European Championships in 2001 and 2002 where Mika Kallio was voted as the best debutant rider of the season.
