Suzuki, one of Japan’s biggest multinational corporations has been manufacturing automobiles for more than seventy-five years. It has thirty five production facilities, in twenty-three countries and a hundred and thirty three distributors that serve more than a hundred and ninety nations in all making it the twelfth largest manufacturer of automobiles globally. The Company was founded in the year 1909, by a Chinese national known as Michio Suzuki.
It was initially set up as a unit to manufacture power-looms but surprisingly in the year 1926, since the looms were of a very high quality and seldom required any maintenance the company branched out into making motorized cycles. One thing soon led to another and Suzuki soon started experimenting with motorbikes and cars in the year 1938. But it achieved its first success after the Second World War in the year 1955. Today, Suzuki is present in multiple sectors; cars, bikes, All-Terrain Vehicles and outboard engines for boats. It boasts of having the maximum market share in many countries globally. Especially in the motor bike sector, Suzuki has been an inventor of sorts. It has always delivered more than the expectations. It has a host of mean machines in its stable. The list includes 5 Super Sport bikes, 2 Sports Touring Machines, 17 Street bikes 19 Cruisers, 3 Off-road bikes, and 5 each of Motor-cross and Dual purpose bikes along with 5 scooters which totals up to an impressive 61 models! And new one’s are launched almost every six months! In the ATV sector, it has 8 utility models, 3 sport models and 2 machines for kids.  Suzuki recently shot to fame with the GSX-R1300 Hayabusa Super-sport bike which was known as the fastest bike on earth when it was launched. It had a mind-boggling top speed of 330km per hour and created a world record! Many other success stories were soon to follow. The V-Storm 1000 Tourer, the Intruder C-1800 R Cruiser, The Bandit 1250 Street bike, and the recently launched Gladius which won the best designed bike award for the year 2009 awarded by the Japan industrial Design Promotion Organization (JIDPO). Suzuki has also participated in many international Motorbike races. MOTO GP, AMA SBK, MX Championships and many others. It has got many popular international racers as its riders. Loris Capirossi, Tommy Hayden, Ryan Dungey, Tommy Hill, Alvaro Bautista and many others have won many coveted international titles riding aboard a Suzuki Super bike or Off-Roadie.
